Agustí Roc will reappear in the KV Puig Campana by Lurbel after a soleus muscle injury: “I would like to be totally recovered to participate in the KV de Zegama”

Reappearing in the Puig Campana vertical kilometre, what does it mean for you?

After almost four months without running any trail race, I am very happy to wear a race number. On the 28th of March I ran an alpine skiing race, a sport I can practice with no pain on my leg at all. I am going to start a new season, with the Puig Campana, a race I know very well and I enjoy a lot. This will serve me to verify how I feel and if my soleus muscle injury has completely disappeared.

How do you feel about your soleus muscle injury?

Now I feel much better, but the recovery process has been slow and I know I am not fully recovered. I can muddle through, but when I try to force a little bit, I feel some tension that reminds me that I have to slow down the rhythm. I think it’s going to take me some time to recover and be at 100%. It will be only a matter of patience.

Which race are you planning to run in 2015 if you are recovering well?

I would like to be totally recovered for the Vertical Kilometre of Zegama, a new race, but the most important discipline and with the highest level on the national races calendar.

After that, I will continue running other races, but without following any neither national nor international championship. Simply, the ones I like to do. foot live

In August, I would like to run the K3 Red Bull. I couldn’t run a good race last year and now it is, with no doubt, the hardest vertical race with 3.000 meters of elevation gain and with a distance of 9 kilometres.

What kind of trainings do you follow to recover from your injury?

For one month and a half, I was totally out of action. Then, I started cycling and little by little I was running simple races and practicing mountain ski. At the same time, I was attending several specific rehabilitation sessions.

Now, I can do very good trainings when I run, but I cannot run a race with too much elevation gain and this is what concerns me more, because I cannot prepare myself for a vertical race. But, even then, I am quite happy because I can prepare myself doing some bicycle and skiing. I like both sports, and they are good to prepare myself for this type of competitions.

What are your expectations for your reappearance?

I am not overly concerned about the result. What is really important to me is to be able to run without any trouble. If it is so, I am sure I will run a good race, although my result will be far from other previous results; however I will give the maximum of myself to run as quickly as possible.

Which Lurbel equipment do you normally use, and why?

Firstly, and due to the time we are living now, the bonnet Rebel is a garment I use regularly, for running, skiing or even under the bicycle helmet. Secondly, the underwear is perfect as a first layer and temperature regulator garment for every sport. This is why the model Danubio, the temperature regulating short sleeve t-shirt, is perfect. If we talk about temperature regulating garments, the long sleeved shirt Alaska is very comfortable, maintains core body temperature and evaporates perspiration quickly, therefore is ideal as a thermal first layer. On the other hand, I am also using the compression tights Potenza since some time ago under trousers or long tights.

Socks

Regarding the socks, I normally use the compression socks model Jocker, with height H5. Although these are cycling socks, I also use them for running, as I obtain very good results and they keep secure my soleus muscle. Moreover, they have a great design.

I am very happy with the efficacy of Reactive and Trail Plus models. In fact, I use them since some years ago depending on the kind of training and they are the best for me, because of their compressive properties, comfort and durability.
