The Spanish Network for Research into Sport Performance in Women's Cycling has been supported by the business sector related to cycling, as in the case of Lurbel, a technical sports brand that develops unique cycling products through research, from composition to structure, to offer maximum performance.

What is REDICYM

REDICYM is an initiative that was born from a group of researchers at the University of Valencia, when they detected various shortcomings in the parameters that were being used when adjusting the bicycle to the sportswoman, as these were not useful because they were made for men.

From here, the researchers saw that it was necessary to launch a line of action focused on women, from the type of saddle they should use, the geometry of the bicycle, how menstrual cycles affect their performance, which handlebars are appropriate, and any other aspect that may affect the performance of female cyclists.

The Network, coordinated from the UV and joined by five Spanish universities, two European, and will have the support of a Colombian university, will be focused on the Campus of Ontinyent, a Valencian municipality that also hosts the headquarters of the brand Lurbel, from which they want to give prominence to this headquarters.
